My so far last exhibition in Budapest
On May 12, 2022, my exhibition opened at the “Kárpát-haza” Gallery, formerly “Forrás” Gallery, in Budapest. It was the 100th and at the same time the last in the long series of exhibitions in this gallery, which is wonderfully located right next to the octagon. Because the gallery was closed this year. I waited eagerly and a little nervously for the opening and was happy about the coming of my friends and acquaintances as well as all other visitors. In the course of the evening, the employee of the gallery surprised me with the announcement that the Hungarian singer Márta Sebestyén would come. That was a huge deal, because Márta Sebestyén is THE leading representative of Hungarian folk music, has won several awards and has performed in concerts and festivals all over the world. I heard and loved her music in Germany as a teenager. Because it arrived a little later, the gallery staff asked me to show Márta Sebestyén my exhibited works in a private tour. It was a great honour for me and I was grateful for these moments to be able to present as an unknown painter my paintings to such a great artist. This encounter will always remain in my memory.
I would finally like to point out that the main work of the exhibition, a large-format painting of two grey cattle bulls in Apajpuszta, south of Budapest, has become the property of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Budapest, and is therefore owned by the Hungarian state!
